Cypress Head Golf Club
Cypress Head Golf Club is an award-winning, 18-hole public course owned by the City of Port Orange. Originally designed by Arthur Hills and Mike Dasher in 1992 and thoughtfully restored in 2015, the course features wide fairways, generous greens, and a layout that offers both playability and challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
A full practice facility, grass-tee driving range, and well-stocked golf shop support the on-course experience, while dining at Flagsticks Bar & Grill provides a relaxed setting to unwind after your round. Marcelo TresierraPlayed two rounds at Cypress Head Golf Club and had a fantastic experience both times — one early morning and one in the afternoon. The course layout is really fun and the conditions were excellent. Greens rolled nicely, and the fairways and tee boxes were in very good shape. The pace of play was perfect. I hardly had to wait on any holes which made the round really enjoyable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially the bag drop/starter and the bartender. The pro shop is beautiful and well stocked with plenty of merchandise. Before the early round I grabbed a coffee, and at the turn I tried their “3-minute breakfast sandwich” (rye, egg, cheese, and sausage) with another coffee. It really did come out fast and was delicious. Also saw turkeys and rabbits on the course which added to the experience. Overall a great public course and I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

Tyler CI wanted to give this place 5 stars because it was in great shape and is as equally challenging as it is enjoyable, but unfortunately the members had to negatively affect the whole experience. The starter was going around quite frequently so we thought he was attempting to manage pace of play but apparently only for non members who were not causing any issues. We paired up with a twosome who started 40 minutes before us. They told us they have been stuck behind a foursome of members who were insufferable on every hole. They wouldn’t hit off the tee box until the green was cleared even on par 5s!! They also averaged about 20 minutes just on the green! That is unacceptable. The backup was insane with up to 2 and 3 groups on a tee box. They need to do better at managing their members. The course is overall beautiful and the cart girl was on point as well circling at least 3 times during our round.

Jack MACCORMACMy league very much enjoyed playing Cypress Head for the first time. Fairways are good and the greens excellent. Pricier than other public and semi-private courses we play in the area. Have brand new carts, but without GPS as some others do. Staff is very accommodating; however did shadow us the whole way around the course - nevertheless a great day! JRM
