General Filming Permits
As one of Florida’s top tourism destinations, the New Smyrna Beach Area supports a range of film, commercial, and television productions. A combination of experienced industry professionals and diverse locations makes it a practical and visually compelling setting for production.
Located within close reach of Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville, the area provides convenient access to world-class studios and soundstages. The New Smyrna Beach Area Visitors Bureau can assist in connecting productions with the appropriate permitting agencies and local resources. To apply, complete the Film and Motion Photography Permit for Volusia County and the municipalities listed below.
National Park Service Film Application
Canaveral National Seashore offers a protected stretch of coastline known for its pristine beaches, natural dunes, and untouched landscapes. This setting has been used for films, commercials, and photography, offering a distinct look shaped by unspoiled coastal beauty.
Filming or photography involving talent, products, or props requires a permit through the National Park Service. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with restrictions in high-traffic areas and limited availability on weekends.
