    Follow The Dolphins & Manatees

    The bays, creeks, and causeways around New Smyrna Beach are the perfect waterscapes for exploring. Outfitters along the Indian River offer rentals and tours for all ages. You can slide into the seat of a kayak, or try a stand-up paddleboard if that’s more your style. Either offers a good workout and a new vantage for observing sea birds and mammals without the distraction of a boat motor.

    Land-Based Sports

    It's on drylands...sure, but water features are often backdrops at championship public golf courses in New Smyrna Beach. Year-round, New Smyrna Beach has a long history of hosting some of Florida’s best playincluding the Indian River Open, held annually for more than 50 years. And area courses include the New Smyrna Beach Golf Club, established in 1948, where rolling greens are dotted with towering palms and windswept pines.

    Shipwrecks and reefs, huge spiny lobsters, and a myriad more wonders of the underwater world are waiting to be explored around New Smyrna Beach. Snorkeling is a start, to see what’s undersea. Or maybe this is the year you’ll go for SCUBA certification. Or go with a guide to try spearfishing. In-town outfitters and dive schools have everything you’ll need to dive in.
