S B (Sloop)TY Captain Patrick for a fun morning fishing. Captain Patrick put us on the fish all morning then taught us how to catch them. I lost the first two, but each time Captain Patrick told me what to do better, and I was catching within less than an hour. Black drum and redfish in a beautiful environment. I saw four other guided boats out there, and we were the only ones catching fish. The other guys were calling and coming over, asking Captain Patrick for advice. My advice is, if you’re going on a guided fishing trip, hire The Best. Hire Captain Patrick at Spot N Tail. The place to go if you like CATCHING, not just fishing.

Mike RusinMy eight-year-old son and I had an absolutely incredible day on the water with Captain Patrick Rood. From the moment we set out, he put us right on the fish. We caught a pile of sea trout, hooked into some monster reds, and had nonstop action the whole trip. What really stood out was how patient and knowledgeable Captain Patrick is—he didn’t just guide us, he shared tips and techniques, especially with my son, who had the time of his life. It’s clear he knows Mosquito Lagoon like the back of his hand. It was one of those unforgettable father–son days, and we’re already planning our next trip with him. If you have the chance to fish Mosquito Lagoon, give Captain Patrick a call. You won’t regret it.

John PistacchiJohn P John P 2 contributions 0 Patrick, a true fish wisperer Mar 2023 An old fishing buddy moved from San Diego to Port Orange.For the past year, all he has talked about is Patrick's ability to put him on fish consistently. The photos of his catches have been amazing (Monster Reds, Black Drums, Sea Trout, etc.). I could not take it anymore and had to see for myself. I booked a trip to Port Orange that included 3 days of fishing with Patrick as our guide. Although the conditions were not ideal and changed every day, Patrick put us on fish. Each day, Patrick would observe (among other things) tidal movement, wind speed, water levels clarity of the water and bait available. From those observations, he was able to divine where the schools of fish would be. If we spooked a school, he could predict in what direction they would go to settle down again. Thanks to him, I now have a set of photos of my own to drive my California friends crazy.
