Joseph SpataforaWe recently ate at the Outrigger Restaurant in New Smyrna Beach, and overall, the food was fantastic. We ordered the Coastal Cow, which was shaved ribeye with a horseradish-type sauce, and it was delicious. We also ordered the Boatyard Catch of the Day, which happened to be grouper. We had it fried, and it was absolutely wonderful. Here’s where they got me. The grouper sandwich was $30, which I had absolutely no problem paying because it was phenomenal and worth every penny. But my wife ordered ice water with a splash of cranberry juice. And when I say a splash, I mean exactly that—a very small amount of cranberry juice that made the water barely pink. When we got the check, they charged us $5 for the water with a splash of cranberry juice. Five dollars. I have to say, that is one of the most absurd drink charges I’ve ever seen. I’m perfectly willing to pay for good food and I have no problem paying reasonable prices, but charging $5 for water with a tiny splash of cranberry juice is ridiculous. The food was excellent, but that $5 charge left a really bad taste in my mouth. They should be ashamed of themselves for a charge like that. Easy five stars if it wasn’t for that water nonsense.

Linda CotonWe finally made it here for a great experience! The Ahi Tuna appetizer was fresh and delicious but the star of the show was their fresh catch: Blackened fresh catch: Black Grouper! OMG the best I’ve ever had! The server Tyler was outstanding and the key lime pie to die for! A+++

KC NewmanHonestly the BEST FOOD I’ve had in forever. Everything was delicious. The Bangin Shrimp appetizer was … well … bangin’ good. Delicious in fact … crispy with the perfect amount of sauce. The bread tray they delivered on a beautiful wooden plank was SO GOOD. Whipped ricotta as a spread … whoda thunk? All in all this place is a 10 out of 5!
