We had a lovely lunch here on a Saturday after spending a few hours at the beach down the street. Their signature rock cake (like a crab cake except shrimp instead of crab) was delicious on a sandwich bun. We also got the hush puppies which were crunchy and a great little snack. Our server Brady was excellent and attentive despite us not ordering any alcohol, which I appreciated. There was also live music and a great view of the water from our seats. Would highly recommend this place.

Before making comments about JB's Fish Camp, I'll say I'm not a fan of tons of sugar in food, nor of "camoflauging" something to make it look more appealing. The atmosphere was nice right on the river, and employees were friendly. We both liked the soft-shell crab. The corn on the cob was good too. My wife liked the "stuffed" flounder but commented that the stuffing tasted like typical poultry stuffing with a little crab added - I had to agree. What looked like melted butter for the corn apparently had little to do with butter, not much flavor and seemed like mostly oil. The stuffed mushrooms were not bad, mainly mushrooms with a lttle stuffing, hidden under a lot of cheese. After we ordered our main courses the waitress recommended the hush puppies as a favorite (see photos.) They are so sweet (even my wife said so and she's a lover of sweets) it's more like eating dessert, sorry but "yukkk" on the hushpuppies. The cocktail sauce was also super sweet. The french fries were fine, nothing to brag about. I told the waitress right away we weren't going to eat the hushpuppies because they were so sweet. She was supposedly going to ask someone about it, but pooh-poohed it off until the end of the meal when I brought it up again. Then she blamed it on me for choosing the hushpuppies. Then she tried to steer me into choosing to give her a 25 or 30% tip and I told she was lucky to be getting 10% because the food was mediocre and her service was just "okay". So, if you're looking for a good river view and some nice beer selections this might be the place for you. On the other hand if you're looking for quality seafood, think again.

Not fancy at all but oh man, my husband ordered the scampi platter. The tiny scallops were delicious, shrimp so fresh. I had the blackened grouper and received a huge piece. They had NA Corona which was so yummy and refreshing. Very fun beachy vibes. Staff and great and food came out pretty quickly.

I visited Good Friday and found the restaurant to be quite busy. The service was good, and the food was excellent. However, it's not a particularly accommodating place for diners with dietary restrictions. (As shown in the picture, they even added butter to JB's broiled fish. Since I recently had surgery and wanted to avoid extra butter and fats, I ordered my fish to be broiled.)

Finally made it to JB’s! Spent the day out and about stopped in for some oysters. Amazing set up they have here. Great view. The server was super nice. Told us about the area. We are gonna try to return for a little live music and possible rocket launch.
