Debbie JWhat a wonderful museum! So many fascinating exhibits, and items on display. And the docent couldn’t have been nicer, walking us through the highlights of the museum. We learned a lot about New Smyrna Beach and enjoyed ourselves greatly. But we didn’t have enough time to stay as long as we would’ve liked, so we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

G ASHow special of a time I had with Allen today. How gracious he was to, not only open the doors to me during off hours, but to also take me on a full tour of the precious church/museum. I was returning home after turning around from an overcrowded beach day. Decided to use my time instead to explore. I turned down a different road and saw this lovely church and a historic information sign out front so I stopped to read. What I received was Allen out front at that very moment and the full-treatment instead. He himself participated in the Selma to Montgomery March. What a hero. It was fate...il destino...for my day trip to NSB and I am grateful for the rich educational displays, open dialogue of our nations history, African and world history, as well as current day. It was a lovely exchange for me, with truths, sharing and caring abounding. I'm grateful Allen. I encourage all to visit and continue enriching themselves.

Karin AvanceI absolutely love this visit. Ann the director and sister in law to the founder Mary S Harrell was a delight to meet. This is a community museum entirely, as the community has contributed most of its displays right out of the homes of their ancestors. So much history, love, education in the two buildings. A must visit it will make you proud to have been there.

judi van horneveryone there is very friendly and so knowledgeable. There’s so much history packed into the museum and across the street in the shotgun house. There is also a lovely Native plant garden planted beside the Mary Harrell house on the fence.
