Contemplative Collage has been described as “Art with a Purpose.” The Contemplative Collage process is unique though as in it, we step away from the thinking, perfectionist, editing mind and let a sense of spontaneity and play take over our creative process.
In the first half of this workshop, we will create our own collage journals, cutting images from National Geographics and gluing them onto the covers of composition notebooks. In the second half, we will explore the images we chose, to see what stories and messages they might hold for us. Time will be spent for inner reflection, as well as lively group interaction, with the goal being that we meet whispers of something new and vibrant within ourselves … Somewhere in the Middle.
Dante Jericho is an artist, teacher and Veriditas trained labyrinth facilitator. Her passion is helping others use art, via mandala, poetry collage or labyrinths, as a means of sacred inquiry. She is the founder of "Contemplative Collage" and has been teaching nationally and online internationally for over 25 years.
Support for Somewhere in the Middle is sponsored, in part, through the generous support of the Pabst Steinmetz Foundation; Volusia County; and City of New Smyrna Beach donors.
